No. It’s a non-surgical injectable treatment that relaxes the masseter muscle. There are no cuts, no stitches and no time off needed.

The muscle starts to relax within the first couple of weeks. Because the slimming comes from the muscle gradually getting smaller, most patients see a softer, slimmer jawline over the following 4–8 weeks. Individual results vary.

Results typically last 3 to 6 months. Most patients have a repeat treatment every 3–6 months to keep the result, and Dr Ahmed will advise on timing at your review.

The masseter is a chewing muscle, separate from the muscles you smile with, so your smile shouldn’t change. Rarely, a temporary change in smile symmetry can occur. Some patients notice their jaw tires a little sooner when chewing tough food for the first few weeks. This usually settles quickly.
